Brakes, Exhausts & Suspension
If your vehicle suffers from sticking brakes, poor brake performance or noise under braking, you may need your pads and/or discs replaced. Exhaust faults are usually pretty apparent – escaping air (blowing) exhaust, loose fittings or rust is an exhaust favourite – more modern diesel vehicles suffer from carbon build-up in DPFs and EGR valve failure. Again, suspension component failures are usually easy to diagnose; failing components cause road noise to reverberate to the driver. Ball joints, bushes and broken coil springs are expected for vehicles over five years old.

Cambelts & Timing Chains
At Ben Thompson Autos, our technicians prefer replacing cambelts and timing chains at manufacturers’ set intervals.
