If your air conditioning stops working, starts to smell or just isn’t cold, it can be resolved quickly, easily and cheaply with an air-con regas.
Our Leek-based car service centre can regas your car or van’s air conditioning system from as little as £50 or for free with every full service*.
How do you know when your air-con needs regassing?
Usually, the first sign that your air-con needs regassing is that the air being blown from the vents is not as cool as it used to be or it doesn’t feel any different when the AC is switched off – or worse, it starts to smell.
If you can’t remember the last time your car or van’s air-con system was regassed, it’s probably worth doing – our workshop team inspect the system for signs of past work.
Broken Air Condition System
Our mechanical technicians can carry out an air conditioning diagnostic check before replacing the gas in your air-con system. Our techs will check the air-con system for any faults or leaks and carry out:
- A temperature check
- A refrigerant check
- A thorough inspection of the system’s key components, including the compressor, condenser, drive belts and hoses
- A leak test (using nitrogen)
Once your air-con inspection is complete, we will either re-gas and service your refrigerant or recommend repairs that might be needed to get your air-con system working again. We’ll quote all prices up front too, so you won’t get any nasty surprises before we start work. Our workshop operates a clear, transparent pricing structure, so there are no unexpected bills or difficult conversations over air conditioning repair costs…

Classic defender failed MOT, Ben Thompson Auto’s not only managed to fit me in last minute but managed to work through the full job list within the 10 days, took the vehicle back to the MOT garage for a successful pass. As well as some additional jobs.Several defender specialists have had the vehicle and were unable to identify / fix one specific issue I hadn’t even mentioned this issue but they identified and fixed without an additional charge! Cannot recommend enough!! First time using Ben and I’ll never go elsewhere! From start to finish he has been absolutely incredible.To cut a very long story short, I brought a discovery sport from a dealer and within a few months the gearbox needed to be replaced. As you can imagine, I was totally at a loss and petrified of costs and being without a car until it was fixed.Ben reassured me the day he got the car collected that he would take care of it and I didn’t need to worry. Well, he is a man of his word! He dealt with the warranty company, he kept me UPTO date with the process and replaced the whole gear box within a day of receiving it.
